Cultural Art Experience
The Importance of Place, Truth Telling, Connecting Cultures. Our founder and principal artist, Wiradyuri man Robert Henderson whose tribal name is Birrunga, will apply Wiradyuri sacred white ochre to the participants as a beginning to share stories from historic and contemporary pre and post colonial history offering contextual perspective and insight (Truth Telling) from a First nations perspective.
Prior to painting, participants are guided through the stories and collected works of the gallery, Robert’s approach offers a counter to preconceived stereotypical notions about First Nations Culture with humour, interactive conversation, insight and expert facilitation. The experience concludes with a Didgeridoo meditation and guided art process, where you create your own artwork that represents your own personal understanding of connection to place.
Our painting workshops cater to public, corporate, education groups, and tour groups.
